Jinli Ancient Street + Anshun Bridge in Chengdu

Finally I've got sometime to write this post.. 
In Chengdu I also didn't have too much time to explore the city because I had to work and I just got 1 day off there.

I went to visit the Jinli Ancient Street and during June it's pretty hot there, and I had to buy 3 ice creams along the way. Don't need to tell you besides the heat, I wanted to photoghaph the ice creams hahahah, cause they were far too cute!

Were I bought the purple ice cream, you could choose from lots of colors, green, blue, yellow, pink.. 

At Jinli Ancient Street you can find everything, from teas and sweets to people to clean you ears. Yes! In China they pay for someone to clean their ears, but it's not a simple one, it's a pro thing. I asked if this was normal and I was told that in China it's pretty normal. 

So, once again I went to my fav store in China and I bought some extra facial masks cause they were all on sale! haha!

After Jinli Street, I took a taxi and I went to the hotel to take a shower cause it was soooo hot and I was melting.. I had dinner and then headed to Anshun Bridge. It was a pitty the lights weren't all on, and the were reparing the bridge, but I could take some photos. The area has a lots of restaurants and pubs, at night it's nice to walk around there with all that lights and different colors. Choose a place to relax and have a meal and some drink. 

Hope you can enjoy Chengdu for more time than I did. Ahh, the food it's pretty hot in this region, so if you don't like spicy, make sure to order something without spicy.
I've heart that there is a panda reserved area there., should be very nice to visit it, try to check it out if you have the chance.

Shopping in Changsha - Pedestrian Street

                  My trip to Changsha was pretty fast, I had just one day there. So I decided to stay in the Dacheng International Hotel cause it was close to the pedestrian street and I was planning to do some shopping.

Actually I was a little bit disappointed, cause brands like Zara, H&M are not cheaper than in Europe. And in the Chinese stores you have to look a lot to find something with good price and quality.

So I mostly bought some stuff in my favorite store there, Miniso, it's a japanese store. And a few days latter, in Chengdu, I bought more stuff at Miniso again, lol.
You can find everything there! Stuff for your house, useful stuff that you never thought about, cuuuute stuff and face masks, they have really good ones and I got them on sale.

The pedestrian street it's a nice place to go if you have time to walk all along the street to see everything.
And I picked some random restaurant to dinner, they didn't speak English very well, but they were so cute trying to help me to pick some veggies and trying to understand what I wanted.
Usually there you pick a soup and you choose your veggies/mushroom/meats/noodles and put inside the soup for a while to cook and then it's ready to eat. I picked the tomato soup cause I'm not a big fun of pepper, I mean, I like a little bit, but not too much.

So as during trip in China, it was Spring, so they had some beautiful fake cheeryblossom's trees on the streets. In my opnion, they could leave the fake blossoms there, It gave such another view to the place.

Trip to Hangzhou - Travel by yourself

Hi,

As you saw on my instagram, I've traveled recently in China. So I'm gonna write a little bit of each city.
During my trip, I stayed in Hangzhou most of the time. I did a business trip to China, so I didn't have much time to tour, but I can share with you what I've done during my free time.
Ah, actually my VPN worked really well, I used ExpressVPN, as I told you on my lastest post about China. And it helped me out to keep online on Instagram and to use google maps also. Just make sure the automatic renewal is not on on your account, otherwise it will keep discounting money from your paypal or credicard, or wherever. I didn't know about it and they were discounting money from my paypal account for more two months. And when I turn it off and complained on the live chat, they just refunded me the last moth. Not the ideal, it was pretty unfair they the were getting money from me without me knowing it. But it was better then nothing.

So, back to my trip. Last time I've been to West Lake and Xixi Weatland Park, you can check it here if you want.
My hotel was pretty close to Xixi Weatland Park, I could go walking. So I went again, I arrived there during a holiday, and went for a walk in the Park. Some boat racings were happening, and it was very nice to watch it.

One thing to say, if you are going to Hangzhou during summer, make sure to wear fresh clothes and sun block, cause it was really hot and sunny.

Xixi Weatland Park

 During the weekend I went to Lingyin Temple, when you arrive there you pay 30 yuan to get in the green area, I got to tell you, this was an unic experience in my life. I felt so good there. All that buddahs craved on the mountains, when you walk around them you can feel an incredible energy! I walked up of the statues and I found a little bit of tranquility up there(during weekend there was a lot of people there) and I stood there for a while meditating, thinking about life and feeling so thankful for the opportunity of being there.

Lingyin Temple

When you go back down and keep walking forward, you will find the entrance of the temples on your right side. The entrance is 45 yuan, when you get inside, they give you insence for your prayers. I'm not buddist, but I have great respect for this religion and I feel very fond of their belifs and teachings. When I entered I observed how people were bolding to the temples, and where they were putting the incense, so I did the same. I walked in in every temple and it felt so good. I recommend this visit to everybody, as myself, that believe in spiritual world and in buddism.

Lingyin Temple

They have a vegetarian restaurant inside the temples area, but I couldn't have a chance to go inside cause it was very crowded.

After visiting the temples, if you keep walking forward, you will find common areas of the mokes. The walk is really worth.

I arrived there around 9 am and I left around 1 pm.

After I went walking to the West Lake region, I passed through the Orchid garden that is full of roses and has no orchid (those Chinese translations lol). It's so amazing! Flowers everywhere! And Then I went very close to the West Lake, but I couldn't have the chance to enter this time, cause I had to travel to Changsha that night. And this will be my next post. ;)

10 Things you need to know before travelling to China

   A few years ago I went to China for the first time and I didn't know much about the country. I'm traveling to China again this week and I've got to arrange a few thing and at this time I won’t have any surprises. Here follow 10 things you must know before traveling to China:

1. Contract a VPN service. First of all and most important for me, Google, Instagram, Netflix, Blogger, Youtube, Gmail and all those google stuff are blocked in China. I’m quite used to google maps while I’m traveling. And I felt very lost and dependent of others without a map. As I went to non-touristic cities, I just found maps in Chinese. Not very helpful. So get a VPN service before you go. For what I’ve searched it’s not forbidden to use VPN in China, although once you are in China, the access of VPN websites are blocked. And if the Chinese government wants to know what you’ve been doing online, they can request it for the VPN company that you hired. I'm using ExpressVPN because I’ve read that the service is very good and they cover China. Let’s see it.
2. Get your tourism visa in advance, after buying your ticket and reserving your hotels you can apply for a visa. But it depends on what country you are from.
3. The toilet is usually a hole on the floor. Exactly! And when I first went to a toilet in China my reaction was: “Really?! How do I do that?” Because you have to manage your pee in a way that it doesn’t come back to your legs or foot in the shape of drops, if you know what I mean. Ok, I’m gonna stop it.. this is disgusting..
4. People in China don’t ask for individual meals. Usually they ask lots of food and everybody eat from the same bowls. Like, they ask a bow of rice, some of veggies, of meat and everybody has it. But you can find some restaurants in occidental style as well.
5. People in China smoke, burp and spit everywhere. So don’t make that face and try to act normal when someone does it around you. This smoking thing is very annoying in restaurants if you are not a smoker.
6. They don’t respect queues. So I spent a while in the queue in front of the train station before getting in and when they opened the gate, I saw people emerging from nothing and I was taken by the crowd.
7. Things are only cheap if you go to great markets. If you go to malls or regular stores, you won’t find a great difference in the price. Also the Chinese regular supermarkets have so many different kind of stuff, so it’s a good thing to spend a little time in any supermarket you find.
8. Chinese people eat everything. When I was there I was told by a Chinese fellow that they eat everything, but people. Ok, now I’m relieved.
9. The TV is only in Chinese, even the cable TV. But if you have a VPN service you can use Netflix or Youtube.
10. If you are going to a non-touristic city, prepare yourself to feel like a celebrity. Because people will ask to take photos of you all the time. And as I have curly hair, some asked to touch my hair as well.

China is incredible and it has an unique culture, so take the best of your journey there and enjoy it!
