Jinli Ancient Street + Anshun Bridge in Chengdu

Finally I've got sometime to write this post.. 
In Chengdu I also didn't have too much time to explore the city because I had to work and I just got 1 day off there.

I went to visit the Jinli Ancient Street and during June it's pretty hot there, and I had to buy 3 ice creams along the way. Don't need to tell you besides the heat, I wanted to photoghaph the ice creams hahahah, cause they were far too cute!

Were I bought the purple ice cream, you could choose from lots of colors, green, blue, yellow, pink.. 

At Jinli Ancient Street you can find everything, from teas and sweets to people to clean you ears. Yes! In China they pay for someone to clean their ears, but it's not a simple one, it's a pro thing. I asked if this was normal and I was told that in China it's pretty normal. 

So, once again I went to my fav store in China and I bought some extra facial masks cause they were all on sale! haha!

After Jinli Street, I took a taxi and I went to the hotel to take a shower cause it was soooo hot and I was melting.. I had dinner and then headed to Anshun Bridge. It was a pitty the lights weren't all on, and the were reparing the bridge, but I could take some photos. The area has a lots of restaurants and pubs, at night it's nice to walk around there with all that lights and different colors. Choose a place to relax and have a meal and some drink. 

Hope you can enjoy Chengdu for more time than I did. Ahh, the food it's pretty hot in this region, so if you don't like spicy, make sure to order something without spicy.
I've heart that there is a panda reserved area there., should be very nice to visit it, try to check it out if you have the chance.

Barcelona in 2 and half days

    
      Like a few of you know, as I didn't published on instagram yet, I'm going to Spain next month.
And for now I should spend some days in Barcelona and Seville. I'm gonna have a few days in Barcelona and I should write another post of more places to go there, but some friends of mine are going to meet me there and they just have 2 and half days, so I decided to do a 2 days tour in the city and I can join them in the tour as well.

So here we go, I did like I usually do with google maps, and I'm gonna share it with you. So if you want, you can do a few changes and adapt it as you prefer..

Day 1

We start from the best part. Breakfast at La Boqueria. Food is always a great beginning, right? I couldn't find on La Boqueria's website the time that they open, but on Tripadvisor they say 8 am.
So the maps is down here, and it takes an hour to do everything without stop, so it's a good walking all long the day cause you should spend a while visiting la Catedral, Parc de la Ciutadella and Casa Batló, for example. I have included Calle del Obispo here because I found it was way too cute to take photos, but you can remove it from your list, as it's not a famous touristic place.

You can open it here and add or delete some places as you wish.

And the complete list of the first day is here:

• La Boqueria - Here you should spend from half an hour to one hour, depending on how much you like foods, haha.

• El Gótic - It's a great place just to walk on the streets and see the gotic archtecture and taking photos.

• Calle del Obispo - That cute little spot that I already mentioned before.

• Catedral de Barcelona - Not a long vist as well;

• Parc de la Ciutadella - I love walking around parks and I usually spend a good time doing so, I'd say I'd spend around one hour here;

• Arco do Triunfo - Just to take a few photos as well.

• Palace of Catalan Music - The architecture of the place is amazing! I'd go for a guided tour during the day cause I prefer to photograph on the day light. More info on their website here. But if you like live performaces, it seams a good option as well, I've read that if you arrive early you can walk around and see the palace.

• Casa Batlló - I think it's worth a visit to this place as well. I haven't been inside yet, but I'm sure going to visit next moth. I read that the best time to visit is or early or late to avoid the crowds. It opens 9 am and closes 9 pm. They have some night visits as well. More info about the price is here. And to pay cheaper, buy the tickets online.

Day 2

This day is really special as well. It starts with the Sagrada Familia visit and ends with the sunset from the Bunkers del Carmel. When I went to Barcelona last time, I've never heard about the Bunkers, and it got more famous after Jack from doyoutravel visited it. I've seen some other pictures and I really want to go to this place. The view of the city is amazing, and you can come with friends, bring some wine, and that's the perfect combo to watch the sunset, right??

Talking about each of the places:

• Sagrada Família - I don't need even say that this place is worth a visit, right? Gaudi wanted this church to be build with people's money, so once you visit, you can say you helped to build a materpiece. How nice is that? 😍 You can buy the tickets online here. And I recommend you to check this virtual visit here before you go, so you can choose what kind of tickets is better for you.

• Casa Milà - This is another of Gaudi's works that also beautiful (what is not?). You can do the virtual visit here and buy the tickets online here.

• Casa Vicens - Ok, continuing our visits to Gaudi's works... This was Gaudi's first big work. And you can buy the tickets here.

• Parque Güell - I saw on the website they're doing some works there. So I'd recomend you to go in the free area of the park and if you think it's worth, you buy the tickets to see gaudi works' part. The prices are here.

• Bunkers del Carmel - This place is free, you don't have to pay to come here. So just make sure to buy some food and drinks before going up and do your picnic watching this view. And please, colect your rubbish before you leave. Let's keep the place the way it is so more people can come a visit it. 😜

Half Day

I'm not going to include a map here because this one is pretty simple. It's a walk from the Plaza de España to the National Art Museum of Catalonia. This walk is so beautiful and from up the museum the view is amazing, the photo up here is from there. From the last time I went to Barcelona.

After reading this post, you can think that's a lot of money to visit everything.. It is, but it's well spent, trust me. If you're thinking of visiting all the places, a good option can be the Barcelona card. You can check the discounts here and the prices here.

Trip to Hangzhou - Travel by yourself

Hi,

As you saw on my instagram, I've traveled recently in China. So I'm gonna write a little bit of each city.
During my trip, I stayed in Hangzhou most of the time. I did a business trip to China, so I didn't have much time to tour, but I can share with you what I've done during my free time.
Ah, actually my VPN worked really well, I used ExpressVPN, as I told you on my lastest post about China. And it helped me out to keep online on Instagram and to use google maps also. Just make sure the automatic renewal is not on on your account, otherwise it will keep discounting money from your paypal or credicard, or wherever. I didn't know about it and they were discounting money from my paypal account for more two months. And when I turn it off and complained on the live chat, they just refunded me the last moth. Not the ideal, it was pretty unfair they the were getting money from me without me knowing it. But it was better then nothing.

So, back to my trip. Last time I've been to West Lake and Xixi Weatland Park, you can check it here if you want.
My hotel was pretty close to Xixi Weatland Park, I could go walking. So I went again, I arrived there during a holiday, and went for a walk in the Park. Some boat racings were happening, and it was very nice to watch it.

One thing to say, if you are going to Hangzhou during summer, make sure to wear fresh clothes and sun block, cause it was really hot and sunny.

Xixi Weatland Park

 During the weekend I went to Lingyin Temple, when you arrive there you pay 30 yuan to get in the green area, I got to tell you, this was an unic experience in my life. I felt so good there. All that buddahs craved on the mountains, when you walk around them you can feel an incredible energy! I walked up of the statues and I found a little bit of tranquility up there(during weekend there was a lot of people there) and I stood there for a while meditating, thinking about life and feeling so thankful for the opportunity of being there.

Lingyin Temple

When you go back down and keep walking forward, you will find the entrance of the temples on your right side. The entrance is 45 yuan, when you get inside, they give you insence for your prayers. I'm not buddist, but I have great respect for this religion and I feel very fond of their belifs and teachings. When I entered I observed how people were bolding to the temples, and where they were putting the incense, so I did the same. I walked in in every temple and it felt so good. I recommend this visit to everybody, as myself, that believe in spiritual world and in buddism.

Lingyin Temple

They have a vegetarian restaurant inside the temples area, but I couldn't have a chance to go inside cause it was very crowded.

After visiting the temples, if you keep walking forward, you will find common areas of the mokes. The walk is really worth.

I arrived there around 9 am and I left around 1 pm.

After I went walking to the West Lake region, I passed through the Orchid garden that is full of roses and has no orchid (those Chinese translations lol). It's so amazing! Flowers everywhere! And Then I went very close to the West Lake, but I couldn't have the chance to enter this time, cause I had to travel to Changsha that night. And this will be my next post. ;)

Marrakesh and Sahara Desert - All you need to know

           
              We wanted to do the Sahara Desert trip and we had a few friends that had been there a few months ago. They told us, there your word worths a lot and some like to negotiate woman changing them in camels, and this actually happened to me in our trip to the Desert, but in any case, if you are not sure if they are playing with you or if they mean it, just don't negotiate any woman's life there. And that's what we did when that old me offered my husband 1000 camels to have me, we said no and we walked away to our van (we never know).
When we started to plan our trip we were living in Dublin and we used to invite everybody to go with us and we met two fellows that wanted to go to Marrakesh as well. So we bought the tickets and as Luis and me were traveling around Europe, we met them in Marrakesh.
We bought the tickets from Seville, it was cheaper and it was nice to visit Seville, cute and cheap city.
We reserved a hostel inside the medina to have a true Marrakesh experience (and it was really true). And this experience starts when you arrive at the airport, they told me there that you can't get a bus from the airport to the medina, but I found out in the town that you can, and if I'm not mistaken the number of the bus is 66. So we had to get the taxi and we paid more for the taxi to take us to exactly the same place that the bus does. The taxi driver stopped my husband when he was going to fasten the seat belt (ok then).
The medina is like an old towm inside big walls. There are lot's of smalls streets that look's like the same and you can't find the name of the streets, so for your first day you will have to loose some money paying someone to take you to your hostel. Don't worry, when you get inside the medina and make that "lost face" someone will magically appers to offer you some help. In my case he asked for money at the end, but we can find nice people everywhere, never loosing faith, right?
The hostel was very cheap, 5 euros per person/day and the breakfast was 2 euros, it included breads, jellys and butter, coffee, milk and juice. Usually they serve tea for free the whole day.
If you enjoy buying, this is the place. you can find clothes, things for your house, food..  and everything is so different and beautiful. But as the owner of the hostel told us, bargain everything, and offer half of the price for everything. A great example of it was my little wood camel souvenir, the seller told me it was 20 euros, and I was like "what??!". I told him I'd pay 5, and he insisted for 15, then 10, then 7, untill I paid 5 euros and he was still with a smile on his face. So we did a great deal at the end, and he offered me 4 times more in the beggining!
In our first day, we went to buy the trip to the desert. If you can gatter more people it's better, cause you can get a discount. Never accept the first price that they offer you, try to make it better. Close to the medina you can find where they sell the trips, ask for it in your hostel/hotel.
It's importante to take with you water and a few snacks. They ususally do a few stops and they stops at restaurants as well.
We got at the desert at the sunset, riding the camel can be a little painfull especially for men, so it's nice to have that neck pillow to use between your legs(that's a must!). When you arrive at the camp it's really nice, they sing and play some instruments while they serve some food. After everybody goes to sleep. Ok, it was 10 pm, we were at the desert seen the most amazing sky of our lifes and we didn't want to sleep. So we went to another dune close to the camp with one of the stuff from the camp and we stayed there watching the sky and talking to the native guy about his life and the differences between Marrakesh and the desert. We went to sleep around midnight.
The next day we woke up to see the sunrise. Amazing!! Except by the fact that my husband was at the toillet all the time because of some kafta that we ate the day before. At the time I was not vegetarian, but I was only eating cooked veggies, they are not very clean the way they prepare food there, so I found it better not eating meat (Oh! that's remind me of our first orange juice experience in Marrakesh inside the medina, when after giving the glass that we drunk our delicious orange juice, the guy that sold us, he simply put the glass inside that sink full of dirty water, shaked it inside there and put it back to the next person... and you just feel like everything is coming out at this moment).
So back to Marrakesh, I had to go to the pharmacy to buy some medicines as Luis didn't get better just by having teas and light food. And we lost our last day in Marrakesh because he couldn't leave the hostel, too bad, but not his fault.
Marrakesh is a great experience, it's different from everything that I've ever seen. And I love this thing of knowing different cultures.
