Prepare yourself to see tones of blue on this post. Let's travel to Zakynthos, Zante for closer friends and family.
Zakynthos is our favorite place on earth. We don't like much crowed places, so we went to Zakynthos after the summer, in October. At this time it was like a very calm city with just a few travelers and most locals. And I need to mention that everything was cheaper as well, since the car rental to food and boat trips.
We stayed at
Irini Studios at Alykes, the place was very familiar and clean. We felt like home. The breakfast was very good and I loved the idea of having eggs from the chickens at the backyard. Irini and her parents were very kind to us and I can tell you we sure want to come back and we recommend this place to all of our friends.
Alykes is a great place to stay, we went walking to rent a car. And Alykes beach is very nice as well. Great food, view and cute cats around (I love animals).
The car is the best option, I think, we did the whole Island by car, we had no trouble on drinving around Zakynthos. Our first boat trip was from Alykes beach. It was a big boat and it was nice. But the other day driving around the island we found out that there are small boats close to the lighthouse(on the top of the island). With the small boats the boat trip was cheaper and we could swim everywhere, even inside the blue caves (incredible!).
About the beaches, I recommend you to go all around the island by car and stop on the beaches that you like.
Our favorite sunset in the island was from the Tavern Restaurant in Keri.
Ok, now I don't really know if I prefer from Taverna or from Navagio view. But at Tavern we could have a great meal and have a wine while watching the sunset, great combo.
